Rahul has 7 years of international experience in advanced Engineering Research and Development in controls and automation. He built and led R&D group for a Detroit based German automotive supplier company for their new North American Operations. In that role, he managed the entire cycle from product design to development to end-commercialization with Big 3 companies.

He is a Dual Masters graduate in Mechanical and Electrical Systems & Controls from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. His CFA studies and diverse Systems and Controls background has helped him integrate multiple disciplines in his various functional roles. His work in optimization of Operations Supply Chain is well published.

Earlier he has worked with IFMR Trust, a financial services group working for inclusive financial growth for rural India, as a lead for their Rural Energy Private Equity Fund. He has traveled widely including stays in villages of Bihar and Tamilnadu and interacted with various stake holders in the Power sector across government, big private power players, utilities, enterprises, consultants, researchers, academics, investors, bankers, rural consumers etc. He is actively engaged in leading a national consortium of experts to scale up rural electrification in India. Working with top visionaries like Dr. Nachiket Mor, Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala and others, and having experienced rural realities from very close, he has special interest in building sustainable business models for growing and inclusive India.
